Lighting Design Engineer

As a result of increased customer demand for lighting designs coupled with strong sales growth, an opportunity has arisen for an inhouse Lighting Design Engineer role within the Lighting Design Department at LED Group. The right candidate will perform a pivotal role in supporting the Sales Team (Project Engineers in particular) to win projects by providing top class lighting designs. This is an exciting time for the business, which is expanding rapidly into new sales channels and there will be plenty of opportunity for further training and upskilling.  The ideal candidate would have good commercial lighting knowledge, a history of technical support and customer communication, together with project management experience.


  • Working with Sales Team primarily, and other key stakeholders in the delivery of lighting design projects.
  • Review and interpret CAD files to create lighting designs that meet specification requirements.
  • Deliver lighting designs as requested by Sales Team within agreed timelines.
  • Project Management, take ownership of lighting design projects as allocated by the Lead Lighting Design Engineer.
  • Support the Sales team in the tendering process.
  • Carry out comparative analysis of ROBUS vs Competitor products through lighting designs and reports.
  • To assist in technical support functions as business needs demand.

Applicant requirements


  • 1 to 3 years lighting design experience using Relux or Dialux.
  • Technical graduate (e.g. Engineering/Design) preferred.
  • Experience in working with CAD files to create suitable lighting designs.
  • Good working knowledge of lighting-related standards, schemes and calculations.
  • Customer Service Orientated.
  • Teamwork.
  • Results focussed, the ability to handle large volumes of data and to run multiple projects concurrently.
  • Persistent and diligent with focus on attention to detail.
  • Assertive and dynamic with willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
  • Clear communicator – written and verbal.

Desirable – The ideal candidate would also possess the following

  • Relevant experience in the lighting industry.
  • Understanding of building services.
  • Proven track record of office and industrial lighting design.
  • Knowledge of BIM preferred.
  • Computer Aided Design Software (AUTOCAD, etc.).

Conversions Co-Ordinator

To promote company success , through smooth running of the link between W02 and W30 ,to ensure smooth transfer of stock both physically and systematically in conversions , provide customer support and support to the department manager, to ensure best practice for all process and procedures. To achieve completion of conversion workload within the agreed TAT time and maintain open order report.


  • Support team manager and perform duties when manager is absent or out of office.
  • To provide guidance, instruction and direction to the team leads with regards open order report.
  • To liaise with Internal sales, ASM’s and regional directors.
  • Pricing and Quotes on SAP.
  • To manage customer enquiries regarding orders, availability, item code queries.
  • Managing open order report and customer requirement.
  • Ensure all orders are dispatched within time frame of open order report.
  • SAP Transactions, receipts, dispatch, BOM’s, production orders, sales orders, item code set up.
  • Manage inventory and stock, liaising with inventory team.
  • Liaise with Technical manager on enquiries.
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and that all PPE provided is used.
  • Provide input that may help improve processes and procedures throughout all areas of the building general housekeeping.

Project Sales Account Manager
